Ulceration is a of the fornation of an ulcer in body. Gastric acid mediating

Das, Bipon Chandra
A peptic ulcer is damage to the lining of the stomach, duodenum, or esophagus due to
corrosion caused by gastric acid or digestive juices secreted by stomach cells. Among all
classes of drugs, proton pump inhibitors are the most effective for the management of
peptic ulcer diseases. Rabeprazole sodium is one of the prominent proton pump
inhibitors. It is commonly used in the world for the treatment of peptic ulcer. It functions
by inhibiting the enzyme W /K+ ATPase which is responsible for the secretion of gastric
acid. The purpose of this study is to analyze the market feasibility study of Rabeprazole
sodium. Many books, journals and different articles were used to know efficacy and
safety profile of drugs. Rabeprazole sodium blocks acid production in the stomach. It is
prescribed for the short-term (4 to 8 weeks) treatment of sores and inflammation in the
upper digestive canal (esophagus). It is more effective in the treatment of duodenal ulcer,
H. pylori, gastric ulcer, erosive esophagitis, GERD, and pathological hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. By the study of market, feasibility
among all PPls Rabeprazole market value is 26,568,572 taka. Rabeprazole market growth
is 2.29%, which is comparatively less among other PPls. To increase overall market
growth I can introduce Rabeprazole sodium, which is a delayed-release tablet. Because
of its D-R property I hope that with in one year it will become a superior drug for the
,treatment of peptic ulcer.

Diarrhea is one of the principal causes of morbidity and mortality among children in the
developing world and is the second leading killer of children under the age of five years,
accounting for approximately 1.6 million deaths annually. An estimated 17 percent of the
annual 10.8 million deaths in children aged less than five years are estimated to be caused
by diarrhea. While international programs encouraging the use of oral rehydration
therapy (ORT) and other interventions have helped to lower these rates, diarrheal disease
remains a very serious public health issue for children across the globe. Recently, strong
evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of new, low osmolarity ORS and zinc
supplementation catalyzed an international call to action urging countries to adopt new
treatment guidelines and increase efforts to improve ORS coverage. At the end of 2007,
34 Countdown priority countries had adopted both new guidelines and 17 more had
adopted one or the other.
The aim of this study was to get information of young children below six months with
diarrhoea admitted to Institute of Child Health and Shishu Sasthya Foundation Hospital
(ICH & SSF) about their symptoms and treatment profile. Hospital records of eighteen
children aged below six months admitted to ICH & SSF reviewed for the purpose of
getting information about the symptoms and treatment profile for those infants. The
common symptoms of the study infants were loose watery stool, fever, cough, vomiting,
swelling, etc. Most of the patients were treated with KOLORIDE infusion which is a
balanced combination of electrolytes, ORS and some patients were kept under NPO
(nothing per oral) for sometime. Among 18 patients, only 2 children received antibiotic
therapy. The common antibiotics used for treating the patients were ciprozoid
(ciprofloxacin) and Civox (ciprofloxacin). The result of this study shows that the
symptoms of the patients disappeared after receiving the appropriate treatment.

Abroma augusta Linn (Sterculiaceae), commonly known as Ulatkambal(Bengali). This
plant is used as medicinal plant for its distinct pharmacological activity. Chemical
analysis of this p lant has noticed various chemical properties. The aim of this study was
to investigate the antinociceptive effect of the ethyl acetate extract of A.augusta in acetic
acid-induced writhing test in mice. The result suggests that the extract has exhibited
significant (p<0.05) analgesic effects, which we
'
re comparable with standard drugs. The
bark extracts at 500 and 250 mg/kg showed significant reduction in acetic acid induced
writhing in mice with a maximum effect of65.27% reduction at 500 mg/kg dose.
