dc.description.abstract The Unbearable Lightness of Being, a philosophical romantic novel by Milan Kundera demands a thorough investigation on the theme of love that Kundera tries to depict to his readers. However, this multidimensional, existential, and heavily inter-textual novel does not allow the readers to come to a concrete definition of love. The fluctuating storyline and omniscient narrator make it even harder for the readers and critics to provide a steady interpretation of the novel. As a consequence, the idea of love seems to be ambiguous which makes the readers struggle throughout the novel that eventually becomes unbearable for them as well. Thus, the title of this paper has been chosen as– ‘The Unbearable Vagueness of Being in Love: Scrutinizing Milan Kundera’s Idea of Love in The Unbearable Lightness of Being’. en_US
