dc.description.abstract I choose this title "Dristidan", as it powefullly evokes the meaning and to understand the story and tagor's intention of presenting the social picture, women's postion in a society and family affairs of life, Kumi is the protagonist of this sort story. Her husband abinash was abouth to commit a sin of breaking a dreadful oath-not to marry a sceond time. H become confused and frustrated in his life and finally he came back to his loving wife, kumodini. Kumo's devotion and naivere contribute to his renews feeling for her and he returns. This is the essence of tagore's story "distidan". en_US
